Getting to Birchwood Wilderness Camp is an adventure.

An adventure we have down to a science!

The camp vans and busses leave the MSP Airport at 12noon. If you will be dropping your camper off in Minneapolis, we have a pick-up location at the Eisenhower Community Center in Hopkins, MN.

It is best to use Travel One, our travel agency, to secure your airline reservations. The agency blocks off a number of seats so that our campers sit together and arrive to the MSP Airport in time to catch the bus.

Our campers fly from cities across the nation to Minneapolis, board our charter bus, ride along the beautiful North Shore of Lake Superior and up the Gunflint Trail. The final two miles are traveled by water to camp.

Even though we are not in an urban setting, we use a variety of technologies to know where our kids are 100% of the time. Campers don’t have direct access to cell service, Wi-Fi or other modern communication once they hit the Gunflint Trail, but WE always do.

In March, we send you the forms necessary to make reservations. A very detailed explanation of camp travel is provided in the Parent Handbook and we are always happy to answer all of your questions. When it comes to travel, we are meticulous about keeping our "ducks in a row".
